This page explains how to delete your Code News account (Android app Code News - Articles for Programmers & Developers, developed by CODEBLDR) and what happens to your data.

Delete it from the app

  1. Open Code News and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Your account is deleted immediately.

Delete it without the app

If you no longer have the app installed, send an email to codenews@codebldr.com from the email address you used to sign in, with the subject Delete my Code News account. If you signed in with Google, Facebook, Apple, GitHub or Twitter, use the email address of that account. We delete the account within 30 days and reply to confirm.

What is deleted

  • Your account: name, username, email address, avatar and social login link
  • Your favorite programming languages and app settings
  • Your bookmarks
  • Your push notification tokens

What is kept

  • Articles you submitted to the public feed may remain visible, without your name.
  • Article view and bolt counters, which no longer point to any account.
  • Purchase records, where we are legally required to keep them (for example for accounting), for as long as the law requires.
